It begins again! Our Kamloops Royalty team was thrilled to congratulate Kamloops own Paris Sanesh on placing this past weekend in the British Columbia Ambassador Pageant. The weekend was a relaxing one for Karly, Emily, and I, as we watched in admiration of our fellow sparkle head and friend, Paris. All her hard work paid off, and the four of us are absolutely thrilled to be able to share much of the following year together attending pageants and community events together.
Speaking of community events, the Kamloops Royalty was very happy to be present this past week at Hot Night in the City, the local car show. We toured around to browse and look at all the impressive chrome and wide selection of spotless vehicles. It was a privilege to hand out the awards given in a broad variety of unique categories, as many of the well deserved winners claimed their plaque or trophy and posed for a picture with yours truly. Also while we were downtown for the event, we were able to volunteer some time to water the public produce project garden!
One of the more interesting events we were able to attend was the Mine Day in Logan Lake at Highland Valley Copper. We toured all the pits, and took some great photos! If I don’t mind saying so myself, we seemed to do quite a fantastic job selling 50/50 tickets, and painting some very good looking faces.
I believe we were all able to experience Kamloops this past week at the pinnacle of its city pride as we hosted the Western Canada Summer Games! The opening and closing ceremonies were only a small result of all the hard work and dedication put into the Games, which were 4 years in the making. Karly, Emily, and I were able to attend men’s volleyball game, and basketball game, which only boosted our city pride as we watched our home province teams go for gold!
All in all, it has been a very eventful, and enjoyable past couple weeks, and things seem to only be getting better. We have been having the time of our lives, and cannot wait to continue to share all our wonderful experiences!
Best wishes,
Kamloops Princess, Kimberly Lebel
